At the top of the small hill upon which sits the majestic beast of the Coliseum, there a restaurant which reflects Rome and its exquisite cuisines to the fullest. With 5 meter high ceilings and typical Roman arches, the Taverna dei Quaranta (Tavern of the Forty) has been a gathering place for Romans and visitors for over 100 years and has a fascinating history dating back to the 16th century.

The restaurant is on 2 floors and boasts a view of the Coliseum from its terrace dining area. Taverna dei Quaranta serves all the typical Roman dishes and popular Roman pizzas, all done with the most thin crust and cooked in a classic wood fire pizza oven.

If you are like most and plan on visiting the Coliseum on your Rome travels, stop by the restaurant for lunch or dinner and meet the friendly faces of the family who has continued this legacy for so many years.
